For Malabar Gold and Diamonds, the Bab Al Bahrain (heritage site) outlet is their premium and exclusive store in the kingdom for 21-carat gold and diamond collections. The rollout of the store concept is based on a new design vision conceived by Stapati Architects, a reputed design house based in India. Until recently, the Malabar Group had been sourcing millworks for their outlets from the Far East. However, prevailing challenges faced in global logistics led them to nearshore and identify a turnkey manufacturer and fit-out company in the Middle East that can cater to the critical timelines and execute fast-track projects in high-quality finishes.
At Havelock One, we are incredibly proud of having been involved with the first new concept store in Bahrain, which is the second in the region. Our factory manufactured all of the FF&E, the complete millwork package, including wall displays, mid-floor furniture, and metal profiles. An extensive amount of effort has gone into researching suitable materials to match the design concept and detailing the ironmongery and ceiling patterns, crafted by our artisans. Our Bahrain fit-out team reinforced the fitting out of the shop in under four months, covering all MEP works, including security system coordination. The main highlights of this project are the CNC patterns on the ceiling and columns, fluted wall panels in different shades, the display units in the ‘Mine’ diamonds section and the metallic mesh curtain in the customer lounge.
Our team took on the responsibility for the project from material selection to manufacturing the complex ironmongery and curved display units in a compressed schedule, challenging ourselves to complete Malabar Gold & Diamonds at Bab Al Bahrain with a special creative touch. We executed this project from start to finish without client supervision on-site. Every job allows us to evolve the relationship with the client further, and we are currently working towards the implementation of the next store renovation in Bahrain.
