Our scope included both the back and front of the house, encompassing ticket counters, a foyer, corridors, toilets, storage, staff rooms, and an extensive customised kitchen to serve specially crafted dine-in cuisine for the cinema fans. Our fit out team accomplished an impressive structural steel installation, which was challenging due to the overall height of the foyer. Particular attention was given to the installations within the iMax and the pre-movie lounge for Reel Platinum Suites to boost an exclusive VIP experience. We started with a meticulous site survey and setting out process, followed by installing high-level slab soffit painting and acoustic treatment to elevate the experience within the park. Our Bahrain fit out team carried out a pivotal phase overseeing the installation of MEP services for the ceilings, featuring lights, speakers, sprinklers, and fire alarm sensors. We also carried out the construction of the secondary steel grid and installed low-level MEP services and ceilings. Our detailed finishing skills shine through in the flooring, which we developed encompassing polished concrete and luxury vinyl, and in the colourful street art. The project’s distinctive character results from the installation of woodwork/joinery and special themed finishes, concluding with the placement of loose furniture.

Our Bahrain fit out teams carried out several complex activities, including the lifting and shifting of panels weighing 6.5 tons and measuring 9 meters by 3 metres. We also had to manage intricate logistics of placing the HVAC equipment on the roof. For the concreting works, a 270-meter-long concrete routing was installed from the mall exterior to the aquarium unit inside the mall. We also installed a busbar from the basement to the zone for stage-wise construction, and the ingenious design of a temporary gantry girder was achieved to complete the works of several exhibits within the zone.

The entire project journey, including the critical logistics movement, was met with precision and expertise. The Rope Bridge, a unique feature, adds an element of thrill and adventure to this unparalleled aquatic experience.

In 2021, after successfully completing cineplex projects in Jizan and Al Kohbar, Havelock One signed an agreement with Empire Cinemas to deliver three additional Multiplexes at Othaim Mall, Al Ahsa (8 screens, 714 seats, 2,886 sqm), Othaim Mall, Rabwa, Riyadh (10 screens, 1,254 seats, 4,785 sqm) and Al Rashid Mega Mall, Madina (10 screens, 744 seats, 3,250 sqm). All were conceptaulised by Empire Cinemas’ long-standing design partner, DNA Architects & Planners, and fitted-out by Havelock One interiors.

All millworks were supplied by our factory in Askar, Bahrain, while the acoustic decorative finishes inside the theatres were sourced from China and the carpet was specified from a supplier in South Africa.

To date, Havelock One has delivered the turnkey fit out of five Empire Cinemas in five different cities within KSA.

Havelock One was retained to complete the turnkey fit-out for Droplets by Caboodle, an interactive play area for young children and babies. Our fit-out experience in complex entertainment venues made us the ideal partner for Caboodle on this project. Our scope was turnkey fit-out from shell and core, MEP works, partitions, decoration and flooring.

We were also responsible for installation of the feature ceiling details, graphics and signage and play equipment. The details are designed to encourage creativity, interaction and imagination in young children, while providing them the perfect space to have fun.

The “water-inspired” space is split into a play area for babies and toddlers with water play, a sensory room, quiet room, climbing areas, soft play and a coffee area for adults. Havelock One completed the turnkey fit-out for all zones.

Grand Cinemas retained Havelock One to complete a full turnkey fit-out of an 11-screen cinema complex in The Park Mall, Taif. The cinema has a seating capacity ranging from 40-299, equating to a total seat count of 1243 across 36,500 sq. ft.

The scope of the fit-out for Havelock One included all screens, the impressive main entrance façade and two grand lobbies. All joinery, metal, and glasswork, including furniture and windows were manufactured in Havelock One’s Askar, Bahrain factory and shipped to the site for installation.

Havelock One sourced materials for the wall and floor carpets from German Interiors. The materials for the acoustic panels were procured from Qingdao Fuyi Acoustics in China. The successful coordination with all project parties ensured the project was delivered on time, while maintaining our commitment to the best quality. Havelock One’s capacity and multi-skilled workforce ensure we are able to rise to any challenge and can meet and exceed the expectations of our client in both quality and timescales.

This cinema treats moviegoers, young and old, to a museum-like journey through the history of the motion-picture theatre in the region. The entrance features a vintage marquee signage, displaying movie titles in crisp, retro typography and a ticketing booth offering classic concierge service, complete with a menu of movies to watch. Terrazzo tiles and golden brass panels adorn the foyer, where movie posters, tickets and other nostalgic memorabilia from decades past are on display.

Our fit-out team applied distinctive designs for each of the three theatres, following lighting motifs in gold, red and blue with luxury seats upholstered in the same colours. We also installed Gustafs linear rib acoustic panels and Eomac fabric wallcovering for soundproofing. To complete the experience, the cinema restaurant offers a menu of local and international dishes.

Of topmost importance was to provide a smooth, flat surface for the track. We also constructed the offices, wash and changing rooms, briefing, security and laundry rooms including the mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) services room. Our team then installed extra-low voltage (ELV) systems to integrate the track’s safety and positioning system, barriers, CCTV, fire detection and firefighting systems, as well as other furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E). To finish the job, a special epoxy paint was applied on the track surface to protect it from tire marks, scuffs, peels and cracks.

Throughout the project, Havelock One Interiors worked cooperatively with the client, its representative JLL and the track designer, GGI Entertainment, to resolve design challenges and deliver this fast-track project on-time.
