The name “Mangata” itself evokes the romantic notion of moonlight shimmering on water, and this Art Deco-inspired gem offers breathtaking vistas of the Arabian Gulf. Nestled at the heart of the Matal Eatery Complex in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, this 3,600 sq. ft. culinary haven immerses diners in an ambiance of pure luxury.
Havelock One brought the unique, luxurious, yet vibrant designs envisioned by 4SPACE to life. Our comprehensive scope encompassed a full turnkey fit-out, including all joinery elements, manufactured at our Bahrain factory.
Upon entering through the grand threshold, guests are transported to the golden era of the 1920s, reminiscent of the illustrious Great Gatsby era. We fashioned bold geometric shapes and intricate panels from opulent materials such as marble and brass add a touch of modernism and haute couture.
A significant source of inspiration for the design was the moon and its reflection upon the tranquil waters of the Arabian Gulf, a motif elegantly manifested in the restaurant’s ceiling design. The pendant globe lights, with their moon-like textures, cast an ethereal glow, while the rippled steel-clad ceiling artfully mimics the surface of the sea.
The flooring, composed of brass and black-and-white terrazzo, symbolizes the transition from lunar day to night, offering a unique perspective on the passage of time within this timeless space.
